The Joy of Color

I met Joy at a street fair in Lincoln Center dressed in the most wonderful colors. We stopped to talk for a moment about style and its affect on the people around us. Joy shared with me the following words:

My late husband grew to get my style although did ask why he never saw anyone else who dressed like me.  I told him it was because I was so unique. Being a widow now for more years than seems possible, I have wondered if my manner of dress puts a lot of people off.  I might like to meet someone, but will not change anything about myself to make it happen.  It's like breathing, in my world.  I couldn't live without it.

I just love your blog. All these amazing ladies are just so stunning, and stylish, not to mention confident in their awesomeness, which obviously just escalates their style factor even more. I find them so inspiring, in terms of just being who they want to be, having pride in their appearance, and dressing without fear. A great reminder to my everyday that I too should dress up in the fab clothes I make, and wear silk when I want, for no other reason that I can! Thank you!

Beautiful! No woman should ever be told what to wear. http://www.thepaarblog.com/

Joy reminds me of the words imparted to us at the Advanced Style London premiere: "Fashion says 'me too'; style says 'only me'."

She's like a bouquet! Very Chanel/Chanel-esque. Her attitude about herself is refreshing.

Joy what a fitting name for a woman who I'm sure leaves a trail of it wherever she goes. You are beautiful! People will always make judgements about the way other people dress, we do it without thinking, at least you are being true to you and giving them lots to talk about.

Oh, Joy of Color, you are an inspiration to us all. Hope you meet many 'someones' who are worthy of you.
Thanks, Ari, for introducing Joy to us all.

I'm glad she won't change just to attract someone. The only person she should attract is someone who likes her just the way she is!

No one should EVER change who they are (or what they wear!) simply to please someone else!! Hurray for Joy!!

Don't ever change your style of dress, Joy! Any man who would want you to is not worth it!
