Advanced Style's Flash Fashion Show in Lincoln Center

On Sunday I managed to pull off an amazing Advanced Style flash mob fashion show and parade in the middle of Lincoln Center. Amazing ladies, aged 60 to 95 years old,  showed up to model their favorite looks and prove that fashion is not just for the young. The women had a blast and crowds of people came to see the impromptu show. The event ended with celebratory applause right before the police told us that we would have to leave the area. I hope you enjoy the shots from the event.Hopefully we can do something on a much grander scale next season!

This is wonderful! I first saw mention of it on Humans of New York's blog. Seize the day!

Congratulations on pulling off a style coup!! The "models" look awesome, as usual, and I see some of my fave dames in there. I love the parasols as practical accessories. They are so much more interesting to look at than the models in the shows and I'm happy they had an appreciative audience.

Lovely ladies and lovely fashions. Saw this blog post via Humans of New York (on Facebook) even before I received your email notification. I intend to pass the word about your blog!

Keep writing...

congrats on a Stylish Flash Mob of gorgeous women.

your blog makes a difference because it shows that women can be stylish and stunning regardless of age.

i'm only a young un' at 53 and I adore seeing women older than me kicking arse for fashion.

if you ever want a Dublin pic fashion person for your blog then yell for me.

i can get you pics of gorgeous women like Philomena Lynott [82] and mother of Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzie. She is totally gorgeous and has her very own style.

Ireland has so many beautiful older women.

Thank you for making such a difference. You show that women can be amazing at all ages.

you may do it bigger next year but it's hard for me to see how you could do it better. this is the freshest, most interesting, most exciting show I've seen this season...and the women look HAPPY and DELIGHTED to be there rather than sullen and miserable as so many of the models are made to look. How could the police have broken this up but maybe that adds to the allure and mystery of your walkers.

So cool, thank you for doing this!

My aunt is one of the ladies you've photographed, and I get a kick out of seeing her like this. She's too proud to say anything (and I think she'd kill me for asking), but I know she'd love to have her name out there. I was wondering if you could include the names of these ladies in there somewhere, so that they get the recognition they richly deserve. Whatever you decide, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

Another thanks...for the inspiration and encouragement. I have a birthday coming up in a few days and for the first time it is hitting heavy, how close I am to 60 and how far from 20. I look to Advanced Style for reassurance that fashion-wise I've got a long way to go, baby!

Wonderful. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be swapping between throwing covetous glances at their parasols and looking on ebay for one that comes close to the awesomeness I've seen here...

I think the ladies did look great in their choices. All of them looked ecstatic during the event and I do agree that fashion shows are never for the younger ones only indeed.

I am glad to visit this blog and feel very lucky to see all of them in their choices of outfits. This is what we really call fashion about.
