I jumped on the bus during a rainy night in New York. Across from me was seated a very stylish women with a magnificent frog ring. I asked if I could get off on her stop, and take a photo for a book I was working on. She told me that she collected frogs, and that I could surely take her photo. I asked about her wonderful hat and she told me, "I have had this hat for years and have never worn it. I decided to turn up one side of the brim and wear it this way." She is not only fashionable but creative as well.

Frankly, that hat shouldn't be worn any other way -- the upturned brim looks perfect.
And the pattern on the tunic is fantastic -- it reminds me of a QR code!
That ring is fabufuckenfiffic! I've been checking out this blog for a few months now. Can't tell you how happy I was to find out there's a whole segment of people who adore the style of older women in NY! For years whenever I'm filling out a form that asks my likes I've always listed it just like that "older NY women". It's in the about me on my own blog.
I want to cry when I'm reminded this perspective is not treaured as it should be and will soon be a memory. What a boring casual,conformist world it will be...So many many thanks to all the contributors here. I of course vow to keep it alive myself( I wear mostly 30s,40s and 50s don't care who stares or what anyone thinks anymore admittedly I only gained this attitude since turning 40)
